Survey of a heavy timber

You photograph every face and both ends of your timber, with the targets in place. Each photo is checked as soon as it is taken: if it cannot be measured, you are told why and how to retake it, while you are still standing by the timber.

Visual survey, not a grade: only an NLGA-accredited grader can stamp a piece. An engineer’s seal is still required. The target sheet to print
